Modern medicine is moving towards maximum comfort and pain-free procedures for patients.
Therefore, the practice of treatment under anesthesia now extends not only to surgical interventions, but also to all unpleasant procedures — fibrogastroscopies, gynecological interventions, plastic surgery and even dental procedures.

Treatment under anesthesia for adults and children

There is a belief that sleep treatment is only suitable for children. But that is not true. Adults are also eligible for medically assisted sleep treatment. For both categories, the conditions of treatment are the same — a full examination from an anesthesiologist, a cardiogram and consultation with a cardiologist, and a number of basic tests. The person must be somatically healthy to safely and easily tolerate medicated sleep.

How it works

Medicated sleep uses a number of substances that depress the person’s central nervous system, depriving them of consciousness and sensation. In this case, artificial ventilation of the lungs is necessary, because the person cannot breathe on their own under anesthesia. There are more superficial anesthesia, during which the person loses consciousness and some sensation, additional local anesthesia is required, the person breathes on their own and the anesthesia lasts 15-30 minutes. The type of medically assisted sleep is determined by the type and the physician.

An important condition for the sleep intervention is its volume. The treatment is for 5-10-20 teeth.

Although anesthesia itself is not very harmful to the body, as some sources on the Internet write about it, it is an intervention in the balance and equilibrium of the body. Therefore, there must be a reason for treatment under anesthesia.
