Therapeutic dentistry is the field of dentistry that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of “classic” dental diseases: dental caries, pulpitis, and periodontitis. For those who have forgotten, let us remind you that dental caries is the destruction of the hard tissues of the tooth, pulpitis is inflammation of the pulp tissue or the inner connective tissue of the tooth, and periodontitis is inflammation of the periodontium or the ligament that holds the tooth in the cavity.
Therapeutic dentistry includes restorative dentistry, endodontic treatment, teeth whitening, teeth sealing, and fluoride varnish and desensitisers.
Our doctors work with an operating microscope in all phases of treatment, as this is the standard of modern treatment. The microscope allows us to see small defects that our eyes cannot see. Under the microscope, we also perform an initial examination of the teeth, take magnified photographs of problem areas, and show and discuss a treatment plan with the patient. Visualization for the patient and a clear treatment plan are an essential part of our services; we want you not only to be healthy but also to know how to properly maintain this health in the future.
During your first visit, you will receive a full examination of your teeth, pictures/video of the problem teeth with a microscope camera, and the doctor will make a preliminary treatment plan. If further examination is necessary, you may be referred to a computerized tomography or an orthopantomogram.
After a complete examination and approval of the treatment plan, the doctor can move on to the necessary procedures. We always warn you that the number of visits, especially in endodontics, can vary from 2 to 4, so always leave enough time for your treatment!
